Win A Beautiful Therapeutic Essential Oils Bundle with Absolute Essential

Dr-Bo-Hendgen

Dr Bo Hendgen DO ND is the founder and CEO of Absolute Essential, a New Zealand company which designs 100% organic, premium quality essential plant oil products of the highest therapeutic value.

Born in Germany, she grew up in France and studied aromatic medicine there. Basically, if you’ve never heard of it before, this type of healing looks at the science of therapeutic essential oils. Additionally, Dr Bo is a naturopathic doctor, a doctor of osteopathy and holds a PhD in paediatrics.

The Science of Therapeutic Essential Oils

The first thing to remember when using therapeutic essential oils is that they’re powerful. As such, these aromatics – ‘concentrated substances extracted from the flowers, stems, roots, bark, leaves or seeds of a plant’ – have been used for centuries. “When oils are extracted with care, their life force is maintained and can be recognised by human biology,” says Dr Bo.

“Breathing in the scent of an essential oil takes it to the bloodstream via the lungs and the brain via the olfactory system. In addition, the skin (epidermis) can also absorb these therapeutic oils, and they travel to your blood from there.”

For this reason, essential oils should be treated as the potent forces of nature that they are.

Essential Oils By Absolute Essential

The therapeutic essential oils that make up Essential Oils by Absolute Essential are 100% organic, premium-quality plant oils. For that reason, they have a plethora of diverse healing benefits. Another key point is that they are sourced and processed sustainably – a bonus health wise, and for our planet.

In particular, Dr Bo recommends four Absolute Essential therapeutic essential oil blends for female general hormone balance, peri- and post-menopause. These also address the accompanying symptoms of imbalance such as sleep problems, brain fog and stress. Her recommended blends are:

  1. Woman Support – clary sage, geranium, chamomile, tarragon
  2. Stress Less – bergamot, sandalwood, lavender, lemon
  3. Brain Power – basil, rosemary, bergamot, cardamon
  4. Deep Sleep – marjoram, lavender, chamomile, mandarin
(Product names have been abbreviated)

There are various ways to use these therapeutic essential oil blends, including, as we noted before, via inhalation and skin absorption.

One of the most beautiful ways to use essential oils is undoubtably via a ceramic ultrasonic diffuser. Not only do they serve as an attractive addition to your home décor; they also release negative ions into the air. As a result, mould spores, pollens, odours, bacteria, viruses, dust and other unwelcome airborne particles are diminished.

Post-menopause

This is the time when menstruation is well and truly over, the ovaries have stopped producing high levels of sex hormones and for many ladies, perimenopause symptoms subside.

Estrogen has protective qualities and the diminished levels mean organs such as your brain, heart and bones become more vulnerable. It’s also a key lubricant so your lips may become drier, your joints less supple and your vagina might be drier. In addition, your thyroid, digestion, insulin, cortisol and weight may alter.

At this juncture, a woman might experience an increase in the signs of reduced estrogen but she should have a decrease of perimenopause symptoms. That said, some women will experience symptoms like hot flushes for years or even the rest of their lives.

Perimenopause

Peri = ‘near’

Most females begin to experience the symptoms of perimenopause in their mid-forties. Your progesterone levels decline from your mid-30s but it’s generally from around 40 that the rest of your sex hormones begin to follow suit.

Perimenopause is a different experience for every woman and some women may barely notice it. The first indicators are usually changes to the monthly cycle. This means that for some ladies, this can be accompanied by things like sore breasts, mood swings, weight gain around the belly, and fatigue as time goes on.

For those with symptoms it can be a challenging time physically, mentally and emotionally.

Importantly, perimenopause lasts – on average – four to 10 years. The transition is usually a gradual process and many women enter perimenopause without realising.
